The Project

The DCLRail program is a result of a project dealing with
non-functional properties of embedded systems at Hasso-Plattner-Institute
for Software Systems Engineering, University of Potsdam, Germany.

The project includes a library that allows controlling and monitoring
a Märklin Digital model railroad. Special attention has been paid in
the implementation to achieve low reaction times.

Based on this library, a shell allows interactive control and execution
of shell scripts.

In addition to that a QNX image is provided wich fits on a floppy disk
and allows using the software without any unneccessary overhead of
a graphical user interface.

A paper describing architecture and technical details is going to be
published as technical report by the Hasso-Plattner-Institute.
